Produced in partnership with Women Photograph, our "Caring for Each Other" photo series aims to shine a light on the experiences of unpaid caregivers who often go unseen as they navigate one of the most complex jobs of all.
To support themselves financially and raise their two young daughters, Chrystalle and Song Cho have to divide the week: Chrystalle cares for the girls during the weekdays while Song works, and Song does the same when Chrystalle goes to her job on the weekends.
Song takes care of Olivia and his older daughter, Camilla, who is almost 2. Typically, Song works outside the home on weekdays and spends his weekends taking care of his children while his wife, Chrystalle, 32, is at work as a nurse. Today, Song took the morning off to take care of his kids while Chrystalle attended a nursing refresher course.
Song Cho, 35, falls asleep with his 4-month-old daughter, Olivia, on his chest, at their home in Maryland.
Chrystalle enjoys an intimate moment with Olivia. Chrystalle has adjusted to working as a nurse part-time on weekends so that she can care for her two children during the week.
Song washes an unhappy Camilla's hands.
Chrystalle breastfeeds Olivia while trying to get Camilla to take a nap.
